| ILLUSTRATION

At this stage of development, illustrations are the primary way to build the basis of the project. The first three illustrations were made before the project was started, though they represent the concept accurately enough.

I use two main techniques: 3D graphics (Blender) and Digital Painting (Krita, tablet One by Wacom).
Postprocessing of any images is usually performed in modified
Paint.NET. Generally, I prefer to use open source or freeware programs.
Most of the works shown here were made on a laptop with office tier specs (see technical details under the pictures).

I prefer to use only self-produced visual materials. For example, all textures are made from my photographs or drawn in 2D. If not stated otherwise, all models are made from scratch or generated with the use of basic tools.

For now, I make mostly scenery-focused illustrations, but soon enough the scope of genres will be expanded. More content coming soon!

The artwork partially represents the terrain and setting of Fyerra, the second planet in Neeo system. After the "red dust" contagion started, the planet was heavily built up with industrial and scientific complexes. Their main purpose was to provide materials and technologies for building an artificial planet, Raehna.

After the construction was finished, almost the entire healthy population evacuated to Raehna, except for those who survived contamination and have been suffering its effects, and a few who willingly decided to stay. Now that Fyerra is abandoned, the ways of nature steadily consume what remains of the civilization.

Fyor and Kael, brothers who once were young residents, are among the few whose bodies and minds survived "red dust" direct contagion and its effects. Transmutated into vulpines by the disease, now they wander the abandoned planet and try to survive. Unable to recall anything from their previous lives, they only know little Kael has a special affinity to trees with pink foliage.

Software: Blender 2.79 (Cycles renderer), Krita, Paint.NET;

Keathea, 2019 | DeviantArt

The eight scientific stations on Salthea, the third planet, had been researching its captivating ecosystem and unique geology until a sudden threat appeared. A rogue dwarf planet Dhaer had Salthea on its aimless way and a collision was imminent.

The second greatest project in the system was started, aiming not only to save Salthea and Dhaer but also to make a colossal work of art. With artist Aelaehna's leadership, a giant feminine statue was built on the surface of the planet while special thrusters were slowing down Dhaer's movement in the space, so the rogue planet was gently landed on the shoulders of the statue, and Salthea was saved.
Aelaehna named the finished project after her love, Keathea, who inspired her and featured as a model for the statue.

In December 2020 my partner's PC went down and we had to purchase a new one on the money I saved by doing commissions.
This is the first work I made on the new hardware, which along with the use of Eevee renderer allowed me to finish it in just 5 weeks, plus to make a lot more content than I could make on the laptop. Check out the video showcasing details of Neastrea Cave on
YouTube!
This is also my first 3D project that doesn't have any postprocessing except for colour correction.

Technical details:

Software: Blender 2.91 (Eevee renderer), Paint.NET;

Hardware: PC, CPU AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 3700 3.6GHz 8 cores, GPU AMD Radeon RX 580, 16 GB RAM.
